Biography

Harald Darius serves as Professor and Director of the Department of Cardiology, Angiology, Nephrology and Intensive Care Medicine at the Vivantes Neukoelln Medical Center in Berlin, Germany.

Professor Darius’ research and publications focus on coronary artery disease, antithrombotic treatment and assessment of cardiovascular risk. He is member of numerous scientific societies including the German Cardiac Society, the German Society of Internal Medicine, and the German and International Societies for Thrombosis and Haemostasis, fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.

In addition to numerous book chapters and review articles, Professor Darius has published more than 350 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and has been invited to speak as a keynote lecturer by numerous national and international scientific societies. Besides his activities in experimental research in the field of platelet–vessel wall interactions and thrombosis, he has participated in numerous multicentre trials as a local principal investigator or national lead investigator in the areas of acute coronary syndrome, chronic stable angina, heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
